Shred Day
St. John residents are invited to a free, on-site document shredding day.
- No need to remove staples or paper clips
- Team members will be on-site to help with heavy boxes
- “Park and watch” spots will be available if you’d like to see your documents shredded
- Two shredding trucks will be on-site to keep things moving
- We cannot dispose of any boxes, bags, bins, etc.

*A quick tip for planning your visit: 9:00 AM is usually our busiest time, and lines can back up through the parking lot. Things tend to move much faster after 10:00 AM, so arriving a little later may mean a shorter wait. We can’t wait to see you there!
- Pickleball Tournament
Get ready to pickle your way to victory at our Pickleball Tournament! Join us on Saturday, August 15th, starting at 8:00 AM, for a morning packed with fast-paced rallies, friendly competition, and plenty of fun on the courts. Whether you’re a seasoned pickleball pro or just love a good match, this doubles-only tournament is the perfect chance to team up with a partner, show off your skills, and enjoy one of the fastest-growing sports around. Expect exciting matchups, great sportsmanship, and maybe even a few bragging rights!
PursuitPT Physical Therapy and StretchLab will be ready for your post pickleball game needs.
Daily Grind Coffee will be available for purchase to start your morning with a coffee or delicious pastry!

- Touch-a-Truck
Join us for our 3rd Annual Touch-A-Truck Event. Children can climb into the driver’s seat, honk the horns, and learn about the machines that keep our community moving! We will also have the Lake County helicopter at the event this year. This event will be sensory friendly with no sirens or horns from 11 AM – 12 PM. The St. John Fire Department will be firing up the grill to serve hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and drinks, all proceeds go back to the fire department. Cash Only!
Don’t miss out on a chance to experience our first ever Touch-A-Truck bubble party sponsored by St. John Premier Dental! The bubble fun will be at the event from 11:30am-1:30pm.

Get ready for a high-energy night filled with nonstop entertainment featuring Dueling Pianos by Felix and Fingers! Sing along to your favorite hits while enjoying dinner provided by Lighthouse Restaurant. A soft drink is included with your ticket; cocktails will be available for purchase. This is a 21+ event and will sell out fast so don’t wait!

- Fishing Derby
Bring your poles, spinners, bobbers, and worms to the 21st Annual Fishing Derby. Prizes will be awarded to the first fish caught, largest fish, smallest fish, and most fish caught. Wintrust St. John will be sponsoring Traveling Tom’s Coffee Truck to provide free drinks, so be sure to stop by and grab a coffee. This event is FREE to St. John residents ages 3-15, but please register in person at the Clerk-Treasurer’s office or online at Rec Desk.
