To keep St. John residents informed about how the town is spending the money it received from the American Rescue Plan a webpage has been created to display the information. The webpage can be found here.
The Town of St. John has a new method of communication between Town Hall and residents to provide alerts, advisories, and community messages via text, email, robocall, or your choice of any and all. The Town encourages everyone to sign up. Smart911 Powered by RAVE does not charge subscribers to send or receive SMS (text) messages. Standard or other messaging charges apply depending upon your wireless carrier plan and subscription details. Once registered, you can opt out of SMS (text) messages at any time by texting STOP to 67283 or 226787. When you register YOU control how the town can reach you and what type of messages you want to receive. You may also add addition information about any other people living at your location, special needs and/or medications, pets, etc. All information is encrypted and only visible to the 911 operators for a few minutes after any calls to 911. The Town of St. John cannot see any information you provide.
You can register for this FREE service by doing one of the following:
1. Download the Smart911 app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
2. You may also sign-up online.
For emergencies, always dial 911. For non-emergencies unrelated to this system, call (219) 660-0000. The St. John Police Department can be reached at (219) 365-6032.
